Iguazú Falls Photography Adventure with Nature Photography Adventures

New dates soon - Space Available

Join Nature Photography Adventures in Argentina and Brazil to photograph Iguazú Falls and improve your skills at waterfall and rainbow photography.

We have found that photographers come to Iguazú Falls expecting to document this amazing natural phenomenon - but they soon move beyond documentation to find incredible opportunities to create exciting art!

Check out this video made from our Iguazú Falls images!

We'll photograph the falls from both sides of the border, and every time of day, including by moonlight!

Iguazú Falls is one of the world's largest waterfalls. It is an amazing natural wonder to see.

More importantly for photographers, these falls present a huge array of compositional opportunities - from sweeping panoramas to stunning rainbows to individual crashing drops. Iguazú Falls is an outstanding photographic playground - and the perfect place to hone your photographic skills. You will be working with shutter speeds from 1/8000 of a second down to 30 seconds or longer! This is a time to break old rules and invent new processes!

Iguazú Falls straddles the border between Argentina and Brazil, consisting of 275 separate waterfalls stretched along two miles of brink. Many of the individual falls are 200-270 feet high. There are great trails on both sides of the border to get us into great positions to create images.

Devil's Throat, a 270 foot high U-shaped falls, is the largest of the falls, and the most impressive.

We have planned our time at Iguazú Falls to maximize our abilities to both create great photographs - and to work both individually and as a group on the new waterfall photography skill sets that are possible with evolving photographic technology. Come prepared to learn! You'll go home with a new set of eyes for waterfalls - and a sense of exciting new waterfall art ideas that you can apply to waterfalls everywhere you encounter them. And, you will go home with hundreds of exciting compositions to work and share!

Iguazú has an incredible annual flow of water. That flow pulses, changing the nature of the idividual falls, creating an ever-changing set of photographic opportunities.

Iguazú Falls sits in a very interesting ecosystem, which offers many photographic opportunities beyond the falls themselves. We can expect to create images of toucans, coatimundi, countless butterflies, river turtles, other birdlife, and wonderful spider webs.

If you are serious about mastering the waterfall photography skill set that comes with new technologies, and would like to experience one of the truly great sets of waterfalls in the world, join us in Argentina and Brazil as we explore Iguazú Falls with cameras and tripods!

We'll be lodging in high quality resorts near the falls on both sides of the border to maximize access to the many vantage points each side has to offer. Our lodgings have been chosen (inside the national park gates) to enable us access to the trails and to falls vantage points earlier and later than most people can get into the parks.

We set the dates of this adventure to enable us to walk out to the brink of Devil's Throat in full moonlight (weather permitting) and to photograph the falls by moonlight from the Brazil side.

This adventure will begin and end in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We have built in time to explore some of the unique characteristics of this marvelous city.

So many birds! Such good photography opportunities. So little physical effort required. Forty percent of the planet's hummingbirds are found in Ecuador. Thirty-seven percent of the tanagers (which don't show up in the Old World at all). Conservation has teamed up with landowners to protect natural cloudforest habitats - and the result is birds sitting on branches predictably in a way you can photograph them. Did we mention Cock-of-the-rock? Or mountain tourcan? Small group so secure your space before it is gone!
